The University of Siena (UNISI), founded in 1240, is one of the oldest universities in Europe and a well-established public higher education institution in Italy. With approximately 20,000 students, the University offers a wide range of study programmes across disciplines including economics, law, engineering, humanities, medicine and natural sciences.
UNISI is recognised for its strong academic tradition and high-quality research, particularly in the fields of economics, banking and finance. The University operates through multiple departments and provides first cycle, second cycle and long-cycle degree programmes, contributing significantly to both national and international academic development.
Within the MICRO4ASIA project, the University of Siena plays a key role by supporting partner country institutions in the development of micro-credentials, especially in the areas of economics, finance and business. Its expertise contributes to strengthening capacity building, knowledge transfer and the internationalisation of higher education systems.
